Bobi the dog has been stripped of the title of the world’s oldest dog

A recently deceased dog named Bobi has been removed from the Guinness Book of World Records, where he previously held the place of honor as the oldest dog on the planet. According to experts, his stated age may not have been true.

Bobi, who was a Portuguese guard dog, passed away last fall. According to his owners, he was 31 years and 165 days old at the time, which in human terms would equate to about two centuries.

But upon investigation, experts found no reliable evidence of this. Bobi was registered in the Portuguese government database only in 2022, and a year later he had already passed away. In addition, experts have noticed that in the photo of young Bobi he had paws of white color, and closer to old age they have acquired a brown tint. Perhaps the photos from the end of the 20th century belonged to another animal.
